We have implemented enhanced infection control protocols above and beyond the stringent policies we already have in place, created new patient flows to adhere to physical distancing guidelines and procured the necessary protective equipment to keep all of our patients and staff safe.
Before your next visit, we wanted to highlight to you some of the changes we have made to further protect your health. Here is the list of new safety protocols we have put in place:
When scheduling your appointments perform a ‘Pre-Appointment Screening’, for the purpose of determining if you have any COVID-19 symptoms before arriving at our office. You will be asked these same Pre-Screening questions upon arrival to the office for your scheduled appointment
Patients are not required to wear masks. Our administrative team will be applying hand sanitizer to all patients once they arrive. There are numerous hand sanitizing stations located all throughout the clinic for easy use. All patients are required to use an anti-septic pre-rinse once seated in the treatment rooms prior to being treated.
The administrative team has advanced sterilization protocols, including but not limited to, the sterilization of all door handles, light switches, pens, POS systems, waiting room chairs and washroom after each patient. We have installed numerous ambient air management systems with the highest CADR rated HEPA (0.3 micron efficiency) air filtration systems continuously operating in the treatment rooms and all common areas to remove germs circulating in the air.
Not only have we enhanced our operatory disinfection procedures we have also upgraded our nightly cleaning to the highest hospital grade cleaning products available.
Although our office has always utilized personal protective equipment (PPE) that has exceeded all CDC guidelines, however, in light of the COVID-19 pandemic we have instituted additional guidelines and protocols to ensure your safety.
We will ask you to wait in your vehicles or outside the office until your scheduled appointment time. We ask that all patients that do not require assistance, have all parents, care givers or spouses wait in their vehicles until the treated patient is completed. At this time parents are unable to bring children who do not have appointments to the clinic during the parents’ scheduled appointment.
At our reception desks, we’ve installed plexi-glass barriers and placed ‘Stand Here’ markers on the ground away from the desk to encourage physical distancing. We have removed all high contact items such as magazines, business cards and coloring stations that can harbor or transfer germs. We have eliminated all new patient forms and are now doing electronic submission forms to reduce paperwork and contact with patients.
In our waiting room, we’ll leave the minimum number of chairs for seating and ensure they are placed 2 meters (6 feet) apart. Our staff members will wipe down all surfaces with an approved surface cleaner as well. Our staff room has been limited to 2 chairs seated 6 feet apart to minimize interaction during lunch breaks.
If at any time, you feel unsure of the new protocols, feel free to ask our staff about the proper procedures.
In addition to these new protocols, our staff will continuously self-monitor for any symptoms (fever with either cough or sore throat, or muscle aches) they may experience and will quarantine for the mandatory 14 days in the event they are ill.
As we continue to monitor the above protocols to ensure effectiveness, we will keep you updated with any changes. If any of these protocols change and we need to reschedule your care at any time, we will contact you directly. Please monitor your emails or our website for additional Public Health information.
Please note that our hours may fluctuate as we adapt our schedule for the new safety protocols and patient demand.
Our goal is to provide you with the dental care you need in a safe and comfortable environment. We hope to see you soon!
