Dr. Ziv has been practicing dentistry since 1996, and her commitment and passion for her profession has continued to grow over the years. She graduated from McGill University in Montreal, moved to B.C. after graduation and dedicated her energy to building Newton Dental Group into a practice that provides the highest quality of care.

A philosophy of proactive, patient-centered care shapes Dr. Ziv’s work. She is committed to ongoing continuing education in all aspects of dentistry, including a focus on all the latest materials and technologies such as implant and cosmetic dentistry.

Dr. Ziv is currently a member of several local advanced continuing education study clubs in the areas of implant dentistry, periodontal surgery and esthetic and cosmetic dentistry. She also holds a Botox Cosmetic certification, allowing her to administer this treatment in addition to cosmetic dentistry.

Dr. M. Kim

Dentist

Dr. Kim’s educational journey started at the University of Toronto where she received her Bachelors and Masters degrees. She went on to earn a doctor of dental medicine degree from the University of British Columbia. Dr. Kim’s passion for education has endured throughout her professional career, and she takes hours of continuing education to keep up with the latest techniques and products available to patients.

Dr. Kim’s passion for education is equaled by her enthusiasm for patient care and comfort. She has a unique ability to help her patients overcome their dental fears in order to undergo the necessary treatments that help to maintain their oral health. In accomplishing this feat, Dr. Kim uses her outstanding communication skills and relies on gentle technique to soothe the nerves of anxious patients.

Dr. G. Mathew

Dentist

The Newton Dental Group has been a natural fit for Dr. Mathew, as the practice’s philosophy of comprehensive patient-centered care mirrors her own perspective, which she has developed through her education and experiences as a practicing dentist.

Like Dr. Kim, Dr. Mathews received her doctor of dental medicine degree from the University of British Columbia, and she continues her studies through participation in local study clubs focusing on the latest dental materials, technology and procedures.

Dr. Mathew’s primary focus is to provide modern, high-tech dental care, while educating patients about proper care of teeth and gums to help them achieve and maintain optimum oral health. Those patients respond well to Dr. Mathew’s gentle touch and kind manner.

Leslie Brown

Office Manager

Leslie Brown has honed her skills through more than two decades of professional experience in dental office management. Ms. Brown has been with the Newton Dental Group for over a decade, and she makes sure the office runs smoothly and manages administrative duties, allowing the dental care providers to focus on patient care. Ms. Brown can answer all patient questions regarding the office, the staff, even your dental insurance questions. She also can help patients understand insurance coverage and educate patients on other available financing options that help patients afford their dream smiles.

Shari and April have worked with Dr. Ziv and her team for over 16 years combined. They have benefitted from Dr. Ziv’s guidance, and their knowledge of dental procedures and technology allows them to answer any questions you may have in order to achieve your ideal smile.

Through digital technology, such as our digital x-rays, intra-oral cameras and digital photography, Shari and April help you visualize yourself with a perfect smile. They specialize in developing treatment plans that will achieve your goals and fit within your budget and desired treatment timeline, and they can help you navigate the decision-making process by educating you on all your available options. Shari and April will give you the information you need to be confident in your choices of dental procedures and treatments.

Our front desk staff are essential members of our team, and they set the tone for your experience in our dental practice. They are the first points of contact for our practice, whether your initial encounter is on the phone or
in person.

With combined experience of more than three decades in the dental profession, our receptionists Susan, Jessica, Josie and Laurel pride themselves on greeting patients with a warmth that will make you feel at home and at ease almost instantly. They serve as a general resource for patients, handling inquiries about scheduling, insurance and billing. They can also answer questions on other topics of interest to patients and help point patients in the right direction regarding their treatment.

Our dental assistants help Dr. Ziv and her group in various aspects of dental care. They use the practice’s technology to educate patients about oral health and help patients make treatment decisions.

Whether you are having a total smile makeover or a simple maintenance procedure, our dental assistants focus on your comfort level. The assistants have extensive experience, ranging from 8 to 20 years in the field, and they are well-versed in the latest dental developments and procedures and all aspects of care, from orthodontics and Invisalign to cosmetic procedures to implants and everything in between.

Hygienists

Our dental hygienists are responsible for one of the practice’s most important services: the regular dental cleanings that help patients preserve their oral health.

The hygienists have highly specialized training in this field and have dedicated their careers to keeping patients’ teeth and gums clean and healthy. They’ve also mastered gentle techniques that make a visit to the dentist a painless experience!

Our hygienists are trained in caring for a variety of prosthetics and other dental appliances in addition to natural teeth, so they can make sure that all the high quality dental work you receive at the Newton Dental Group remains in excellent condition through proper cleaning and maintenance.

In addition to the in-office care they provide, our hygienists also provide patients with the knowledge and tools they need to protect oral health at home between visits to the dental office.
